Lenny’s opens its permanent home on Tuesday 27 October at 24 Henrietta Street in Covent Garden, bringing New Haven-style apizza to the West End from Max Lewis in partnership with MJMK. The pizzeria follows a cult residency at The Bedford Tavern in Finsbury Park that built it a devoted following.
The pizza
New Haven apizza means thin, chewy, well-charred bases with slightly less cheese than a typical London pizza. Lewis learned the style in Connecticut, and the signatures are the tomato pie and “The Lenny”, half tomato, garlic and pecorino, half classic mozzarella.
What to expect
Permanent apizza in central London is still rare, and Lenny’s residency proved there is an audience for it. MJMK’s backing brings operational polish, and the Henrietta Street site puts it right in Covent Garden’s evening footfall.
Pizza fans should book the first weeks now. Residency regulars already know what the rest of London is about to find out.
