Released on August 16, 2024, via Interscope Records, the track appears on Gaga’s album MAYHEM. Gaga and Mars co-wrote and co-produced it with Dernst “D’Mile” Emile II, Andrew Watt, and James Fauntleroy.
The music video features Gaga and Mars in retro outfits, performing in a vintage TV studio. It’s Gaga’s fourth video to reach 1 billion views, following “Poker Face,” “Bad Romance,” and “Shallow.”

On YouTube, the video ranked fifth among the most-viewed videos in the past 24 hours on May 11, 2025. It garnered 2,979,808 views and 20,647 likes.
The song set a record as Spotify’s longest-reigning daily No. 1 track. Its global appeal remains unmatched.
At the 67th Grammy Awards, “Die With A Smile” won Best Pop Duo/Group Performance. It was also nominated for Song of the Year.
